Morgan Spurlock

I enjoy morgans work on super size me. Morgan is very good at whatg he does and has many excellent documentaries. Myh favorite is super size me in which he eats at mcdonalds for 30 days to show what it is like to eat there and how bad it is for your health. After the thirty days he gained a lot of weight and needed heart surgery. He is not afriad to risk his body for the greater american good. Ms Galvez

Ms. Galvez is a history teacher at Marcus's school. She seems to understand what Marcus is going thorugh and how she understands him. Marcus is somewhat like Ms. Galvez, and Marcus obviously like her. This is shown when he helped her contact her fiance who was a soldier. Ms. Galvez also tends to agree with Marcus on security ideas. I believe Ms. Galvez was put in here to show that Marcus is not alone when it come to being a nerd or being a techno geek. She also seems to be like Scout from TKAMB an indpendent thinker. She also seems to respect Marcus because she sees herself in him.

Ending

I believe that the ending of this book was very good. When Marcus sees Darryl he is so overjoyed he almost cries. Marcus does not managed to say I love you, but still it shows the connection between the two. The author did a well job writing this, I’m not a big Sci Fi fan, but this was very well done. I like how he used Xbox incorporated in the story, it helped my stay interested through the tough parts of the book. I enjoyed reading the book. Marcus is a very interesting character. Marcus is a genius, throughout the book he has talked about all sorts of equations computing that is far beyond my level of knowledge.

Ange

Ange is a perfect fit for Marcus. Ange is cunning active and very outgoing, which fits much of the personality like Marcus. Marcus and her attend the same school and Ange also seems very independent and self motivating. Like MArcus she is also a techno geek. My friend Hani made a very good point when in the book during a chapter that Ange got very jealous when Marcus was talking to Van. Like Hani said this shows that Ange truly cares about Marcus and she loves him.

Cameras

Now that Marcus figured out that cameras have beein tracking him now in the school he realized somthing. That terrorists were getting what they wanted by causing fear in the school to put cameras in the front of the room. Also Marcus found out about the tracking the goverment placed on him. They now were tracking his life. He now has no privacy or anything. The goverment has taken over hs life and he is very paranoid. Marcus is now knows that the schools are giving into the terrorsists and fear is stirring.

Author

I am wondering if the author has had any japenese influences because there is Hajuku fun madness and now he named the labtop salmagundi. The author of this book felt that the world is going to become so technologicaly advanced that it will cause problems. Along with all these technological advancments there is many bad things to go along with this. The more iphones or ipads come out, also nuclear weapons and war advancements come out to. If we head down a path of using technology for violence than I don't see the human race making it far.

Paranoid

It is interesting to see soemone like Marcus be paranoid. Marcus is a person who is not afraid to say anything to anyone and that was proven earlier when he almost lost his freedom when he made a remark about signing the papers. Once Marcus realizes that he is being bugged he is very paranoid and nervous. Then he started thinking if his room was bugged. He felt as though he was back in jail and  very nervous. Marcus makes a very big deal about privacy and he doesnt want it taken away agian.

Homeland Security

I am surprised tha Home land security is acing this rough on Marcus. They have treated him awful and very very unhumane. Coming from the U.S. goverment I would have not suspected this. I understand that Home Land security is taking extreme percautions after the bombing. But, thats no reason to imprision 17 year old American and treat him like an animal, very cruel. Maybe thats why they are considering getting rid of Guantanamo Bay.

Parents

I am surprised from the reactions of his parents. I would have reported them much ealirer than they did, I beleieve that they give a child like Marcus too much freedom. Marcus is extremely smart, hot tempered and angry. Escpically when they cant find Daryll Marcus wants to not stop until he finds him. i believe that if  had a child like Marcus I would limit his freedoms to be safe. Marcus is already being suspected and I wonder why not him? He fits the person that the goverment accused him of.

Chapter 4

Marcus is finally let out of the prison after 6 long days. Its shocking how grateful Marcus is for everything we usually take for granted. It makes me think how tough things like the holocaust were because they were underfed and treated awful. It seems like once your personal freedoms are gone you don't realize how much you take something granted for. If my personal freedoms were taken away like Marcus it would be awful. I would'nt be able to live because of the limit of social interaction, and the lack of cleanliness. Marcus even was a wise guy when they gave him the opportunity for freedom, which says a lot about the personality of Marcus. Marcus is also very worried about his friend Darryl which shows that Marcus has compassion and motivation to find his lost friend.

Hostage

I am surprised to see how intelligent Marcus really is. Marcus is not only smart with computers, but also is very smart at identifying people and Distinguishing looks of people. Marcus is curious to why he is being held hostage and he was knocked out by a bunch of unknown people so I don't blame him. Marcus's friends are also captured too so it will be interesting to see what happens to them
